The Grooming Shop was started in 2015, then was taken over a year later by Arlene and Taryn. We started behind the Dollarama and as our little business grew we found our new location at The Station.
Opening a small business in Lacombe, Alberta was a great decision for us as it is such a loving and supportive community. We look forward to many years serving all our wonderful clients and giving back to the community.
ARLENE
Arlene is a busy mom of three and has always had a deep love for animals. She spent years volunteering with animal rescues, working closely with foster dogs and learning valuable behavior insights from professional trainers. These experiences helped shape her gentle, skilled approach to grooming.
She became a certified dog and cat groomer 9 years ago and is now grooming part time. When she’s not pampering pets, she’s leading a local 4H group and sharing her passion with the next generation of animal lovers.
TARYN
Taryn started her training 9 years ago with an amazing groomer with 30 years experience. After passing her grooming certification for dogs and cats, she became co-owner of The Grooming Shop. Her love of all animals drives her passion of grooming. She loves to better her skills with training courses and staying up with new trends. She is excited to share her knowledge with others and to continue in creative grooming.
TONI
With over 16 years of grooming experience, Toni brings a perfect blend of skill, patience, and heart to every pet she works with. Her passion for animals shines through in everything she does — both inside and outside the salon.
When she’s not making dogs look and feel their best, you’ll often find her with her horse, whom she’s trained from the ground up. Toni’s approach to grooming is all about creating a calm, comfortable experience for pets and delivering a polished, happy result for their owners.
She believes grooming is more than just a haircut — it’s about building trust, understanding each pet’s unique personality, and making tails wag.
LESLIE
Leslie earned her dog grooming certification in September 2019 and began her hands-on training right here at The Grooming Shop. Fast forward 6 years, and she’s now one of our amazing full-time groomers!
Her journey started with grooming her beloved Yorkie, and now she has a Standard Poodle who lets her get creative with fun styles.
KELSEY
Kelsey began her grooming career in March 2024 after completing her certification, followed by hands-on training right here at the shop. In a short time, she has learned so much and is excited to continue perfecting her skills.
When she’s not at the shop, Kelsey enjoys crocheting and spending time spoiling her Shorkie and Shepherd at home.
